Waiver wire/Free agent pickups

It’s only been one week. I wouldn’t go too crazy with add drops.  But a few guys should get a look.

Chris Ivory

There’s a trio of back who rotate for the NYJ.  Chris Johnson and Ivory split the carries while Powell spelled them in a lesser role.  He ran for over 100 yards and broke a big one.  He’s a usable flex fill-in and could be the main back if anything happens to Johnson.

Justin Forsett

The Ravens runningback got 11 carries for 70 yards and a TD.  He also caught 5 passes on 6 targets.  With Rice gone from the roster his value is the highest it’s ever been in his career.

Mark Ingram

He’s available in a lot of leagues.  Ingram looked great this preseason and seems like he could have a career year.  He rushed for 60 yards on 13 carries and got into the end zone twice.  Ingram looks like a good flex/bye week fill-in.

Justin Hunter

Hunter is always a play away from breaking one big.  Jake locker did a good job of spreading the ball around.  He caught 3 passes but was targeted 8 times.  So there’s an opportunity for success.

Allen Hurns

The undrafted rookie came out of nowhere for a huge first half in Philly.  I’m not so sure the early success will continue.  The Eagles looked lost out there when Hurns had his big plays.  He’ll be scooped up this week for sure.  A bad Washington defense could lead to another good week.  If you get him, you may want to trade him while his stock is high next week if he is successful in Washington.

Dwayne Allen

A forgotten man by many on draft day.  If he can finally stay healthy he will be a nice tight end option.  Allen was targeted 5 times and caught 4 of them.  1 was good for a touchdown.

Larry Donnell

The one bright spot in the Giants offense.  Donnell is a big tight end who Manning targeted 8 times and connected with in the end zone.  We’ve seen Manning utilize the tight end a lot over the years.  Not as much recently.  Donnell was on the field for almost every snap and looks like he could have a good season.
