Spiller is done for the season. Fred Jackson is down with a groin injury for a while. Which Bills back should you grab?
Both Bryce Brown and Anthony Dixon should be picked up this week. But who should you grab?
It looks to me like Dixon will get the first crack as the lead back. He has 27 carries for 137 yards. Last week when Jackson and Spiller went out. It was Dixon who got the call. Rushing for 51 yards on 13 carries. Over his career, Dixon has never really carried the load for a team. Dixon’s rookie season he had 70 carries and that is by far the most in a season. He doesn’t catch many passes. Facing the Jets tough run defense this week is not ideal to start Dixon if you do grab him.
That brings me to Bryce Brown. Brown doesn’t have a carry this season. In fact, he’s been a healthy scratch every week. Something Brown address with the media last week a positive fashion. Calling it a learning experience. One he says has helped him mature.
Brown seems to be to me the guy I’d want here. He’s been productive his first two seasons in with Philadelphia. He’s rushed for 878 yards for an average of 4.6 yards per carry. Brown has scored 6 times and caught 21 passes.
I think Dixon gets first shot. But against a tough Jets run defense and Bryce Brown’s big play ability, Brown seems like the better pick up to me. The Bills will use both backs heading forward. I believe Brown will be the better pick up. But both players should be owned. Put a claim on both.
