Week 1 DST Rankings

The AFC East looks strong in week 1.  Seattle is on the road facing a St. Louis team that opens the season with offensive questions.

1. NYJ vs Cle

2. MIAMI @ Wash

3. ARIZONA vs NO

4. HOUSTON vs KC

5. CLEVELAND @ Nyj

I’m not seeing a high scoring game between the Jets and Cleveland.  Go figure…  I love Miami against a terrible Redskins team.  Arizona should limit New Orleans offense.  If they can slow down Cooks and not give Ingram and running room the Cardinals DST will come up big.

6. SEATTLE @ Stl

7. NEW ENGLAND vs Pitt

8. KANSAS CITY @ Hou

9. ST. LOUIS vs Sea

10. MINNESOTA @ 49ers

11. CAROLINA @ Jax

12. BUFFALO vs Indy

Seattle heads to St. Louis who is without Tre Mason and Gurley.  Foles is in his first real game and I don’t expect the scoreboard to light up in this one.  Seattle’s secondary is just a few months from surgery on Thomas and Richard Sherman.  Cam Chancellor is holding out so this secondary could be sluggish the first part of the season.  The Rams can be as dominating on defense as it gets.  But they don’t always play up the their level when the season begins.  I like New England at home in the opener.  Bell and Bryant are out.  They will focus on shutting down Brown and make the rest of the Steelers beat them.

Minnesota could be a surprise defense this year.  I’m not high on the 49ers as a team.  I Like the Vikings to start strong.  Carolina heads to Jacksonville.  A young offense with a quarterback that had a lot of mechanical issues last year.  We will see if those get fixed.  Ginn Jr. is always a threat to return a kick for a TD.

Buffalo has their hands full with Luck and the Colts.  I think they will shut down the Colts run game.  Luck is prone to forcing the ball, leading to interceptions.  there’s a chance they could return one.
