Week 1 Runningback Rankings

Early in the season runningbacks can be tricky as they tend to share carries more.  But many of the top names should have solid weeks.

1. Adrian Peterson

2. Matt Forte

3. Jeremy Hill

4. Demarco Murray

5. Eddie Lacy

6.  Lamar Miller

7. Latavius Murray

8. Doug Martin

9. Andre Ellington

10. Jamaal Charles

11. CJ Anderson

12. Marshawn Lynch

I think Peterson will come up big in his return from suspension.  The 49ers defense is in question after all they’ve lost.  Forte should be a main weapon in the Bears offense running and catching.  I think Jeremy Hill will run wild in Oakland.  DeMarco Murray should be able to have a nice game in the dome against the Falcons.

I love Lamar Miller to come up big on the road.  The Dolphins as a whole should do well.  Latavius Murray could have the season we’ve been waiting for and I think it starts at home week one.  Jamaal Charles heads to Houston which wont be easy.  He’s always a play away from breaking one.  Marshawn Lynch could have a slow game in St. Louis against that tough front 7.  Seattle will need to pass and it could open things up for Lynch.

13. Justin Forsett

14. LeSean McCoy

15. Jonathon Stewart

16. Ameer Abdullah

17. Rashad Jennings

18. Carlos Hyde

19. Chris Ivory

20. Alfred Morris

21. Danny Woodhead

22. Mark Ingram

23. Frank Gore

24. Tevin Coleman

25. Joseph Randle

Look out for rookie Ameer Abdullah.  He’s listed third on the depth chart. Bell hasn’t really played with his foot injury and Riddick is more of a third down back.  Abdullah will return kicks also which adds to his value.  Lesean McCoy should play this week.  If the hamstring is okay, he could have a monster game.  Buffalo may limit him.  Start with caution.  Melvin Gordon is the name in SD.  I like Woodhead to be the more productive back.  Coleman gets the start for Atlanta.  We’ll see what he can do, the opportunity is there.
