Week 5: Waiver wire

Here’s some pickups that could help you along the way.  Byes started last week and continue.  Some players are back from suspension.  Injuries are piling up.

Ted Ginn jr

He’s caught 12 passes for 207 yards and 3 touchdowns in the first four games.  Carolina is off this week which may make it a bit easier to get him.  He may not be a great play every week.  But Newton needs somebody to throw to.  For the most part, Ginn has been a big play type receiver with longs of 37, 25 and 55 yards.  Against Tampa he only had 2 receptions for 18 yards.  Both were touchdowns.

Antonio Gates

Back again this week.  I said grab him before he comes back last week.  Now he’s back and Greg Olsen owners should take a look to see if he’s out there.

Mohammed Sanu

Sanu can run, catch and pass.  last week was his first productive game of the season.  He will be spotty al year with Green, Eifert and Lewis on the field.  There will be times when it helps him.  With injuries popping up through the year, Sanu could be a good bench stash.

Allen Hurns

The Jaguars are passing a lot this season and Hurns has been solid all year.  At this point, Hurns must be owned and he’s facing a middle of the road Tampa team against the pass.  He saw 15 targets last week against Indy and his role should only grow.  Hurns has scored two weeks in a row.

Tavon Austin

Austin has 4 touchdowns on the year.  He’s scored them rushing, receiving and returning.  He has 20 targets so far this season.

Leonard Hankerson

Julio Jones shadow is pretty big.  Atlanta has been dominating the running game.  I like Hankerson at home against his former team this week.  Even if you don’t add him for long he looks like a good fill-in or cheap daily league play.  He has 29 targets for the season and comes off a six catch, 103 yard performance where he found the end zone as well.

Kamar Aiken

Aiken will be thrust into a big role with Steve Smith and Camanaro injured.  He had 5 receptions week 4 and should see his targets rise through the coming weeks.  He could be a great cheap daily league play.

Blake Bortles

Bortles and the Jaguars offense is passing a ton.  Bortles has been a good fantasy play.  If you own Andrew luck he could be a nice fill-in if his shoulder injury lingers.
